What's the difference between withdrawing and dropping?
Withdrawing is when you drop ALL of your courses. You have to withdraw from ASU for the semester. Dropping courses is really a schedule change....you are dropping some of your courses but you are still enrolled in at least one course.

If you want to withdraw (drop all your courses)....
Students may withdraw from the university by Web for Students at any time during the scheduled registration periods. Students have until the Sunday after the first week of classes in a regular semester (or until Friday of the first week of classes in a five-week summer term.) After this time period has passed, students must obtain a withdrawal form in the Advisement Services Office located in Wilson Center.

Students receiving Financial Aid must obtain an approval signature from the Financial Aid Office. The withdrawal process is complete when the form is accepted and signed by Advisement Services in the Wilson Center for Academic Advisement. This process must be completed two business days prior to the beginning of the final examination period.

Grades earned in courses completed prior to official withdrawal from the university (i.e., short courses) will not be affected by that withdrawal. Classes that have been withdrawn will remain on the student's transcript with a "W" grade for withdrawal. Once the withdrawal process is complete, the classes withdrawn will not affect the student's GPA.

Students who cease to attend classes without processing an official withdrawal or who do not complete the withdrawal process will automatically receive an "F" in all courses in which they were enrolled.
